Super Mario Bros. is a 1985 platform game developed and published by Nintendo. The successor to the 1983 arcade game Mario Bros., it was released in Japan for the Family Computer, and in North America, Europe, and Australia for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

Gameplay

In Super Mario Bros., the player controls Mario and in a two-player game, a second player controls Mario's brother Luigi. The objective is to race through the Mushroom Kingdom, survive the main antagonist Bowser's forces, and save Princess Toadstool.

  • Arrow keys - Move left/right
  • Up arrow - Jump
  • Down arrow - Crouch
  • Space bar - Run/Fire

Power-ups

  • Super Mushroom - Makes Mario bigger and allows him to take an extra hit
  • Fire Flower - Allows Mario to throw fireballs
  • Starman - Makes Mario temporarily invincible
  • 1-Up Mushroom - Gives Mario an extra life
